The Warehouse facility offers a range of activities from tutoring, educational development programs, cooking, arts, karate, skateboarding and rock climbing. But for us it is not about the facility it is about our fundamental belief that that human spirit needs encouragement and support within a trusting environment that is why we have created “The Warehouse.”
Our vision is to enable the children, youth and families of East Vancouver by offering them a safe and caring environment where they can gain access to programs and activities that will help them to develop and grow as individuals and a community.
The Warehouse is a renovated tire factory in the heart of East Vancouver. Once nothing more than a storage area, it has been transformed into a fully functional center for outreach into one of Canada's most diverse communities. The Warehouse serves as youth drop-in center five days a week as well as an after school tutoring center for elementary and high school students. Currently we also have an urban women's group and an indoor skateboard park. As well, Vancouver Technical School has made use of the facility for some of their programs.
