Environmental Initiatives Drivers

Volunteer drivers are needed for a CityReach environmental initiative; this is a great project for two people to do together. Volunteers must be able to commit to a half-hour delivery on a weekday afternoon, to drive a clean bin of fresh food scraps to a nearby community garden to drop off for their compost. This role can be done each week or on alternating weeks.

Environmental Initiatives Drivers will also have the opportunity to get involved in other projects as they come up.

Food Driver

A volunteer driver is needed to pick up and deliver CityReach food donations for our weekly nutritious food bank. This position involves picking up donated food from a distributer or farmer in the lower mainland and delivering it to the Warehouse. The shift is on Tuesday mornings for approximately 2 hours, though the day of the week may be flexible. This position does involve some lifting, and requires the use of your own vehicle.

Food Drivers will also have the opportunity to get involved in other projects as they come up.

Food for Families Tea Cart Volunteers

During the Food Bank, participants are offered tea, coffee, and sometimes snacks while they wait. We pride ourselves on exceptional service and this initiative is one of the ways we communicate that every person who comes through our door matters to us. Tea Cart Volunteers are required to make a weekly commitment on Thursday mornings from 8:30-11am to set up the tea and coffee station, graciously offer people tea and coffee, and clean up the station upon completion.

Tea Cart Volunteers will have the opportunity to get involved in other projects as they come up.

Kidstreet Volunteers

We are looking for people to serve the community with us at Kidstreet! This is an energetic, outreach focused program for children ages 6-12, open to anyone from our diverse community. Each week we offer a free lunch, games, videos, music, crafts, small group time, and a Bible lesson. So, we are always looking for more individuals, who are committed to Christ, to help lead in all of these areas. We also phone the children each Saturday, and connect with them throughout the weeks by mail and phone, and also plan special events. If you are interested in helping us out, whether by interacting with the children directly through leading games, activities or discussion groups, or by helping us prepare lunch, set up our facility, run technical support and video, make phone calls, or drive one of our vans (Class 4 required) – please let us know! All interested applicants will be required for an interview, to pass a criminal clearance, and to attend a training seminar through Broadway Church for safety in dealing with children.
